Moroccan Professionals Attend USSEC Aquaculture Production Conference in Egypt

Six Moroccan professionals attended USSEC’s 4th Regional Aquaculture Production Conference – Middle East North Africa (MENA) in Cairo, Egypt from July 6 to 9. Two customers represented feed mills, two hailed from the Moroccan Agency for the Development of Aquaculture (ANDA) and two were fish producers.
Their attendance contributes to a market buildup of aquaculture-developing opportunities following a recent visit to the Egyptian aqua sector and participation in previous conferences held within the MENA region.
The ultimate objective was to highlight the use of soybean products in different fish feed when kept in various systems such as the In Pond Raceway System (IPRS). This technology, which improves the yield and quality of fish meat, also addresses environmental and food safety concerns.
In their presentation, ANDA representatives highlighted the great potential and opportunities for future investments offered by Morocco’s aquaculture sector as several projects are emerging on both the Atlantic and the Mediterranean Sea shores.
The interaction of customers with fish feed suppliers and users and the discussions helped increase knowledge among aquafeed producers about the nutritive value and advantages of U.S. Soy products. Increasing knowledge on providing high quality feed based on U.S. Soy products helps end users.
USSEC’s efforts in promoting feed production based on soy products contribute to market expansion through diversification for U.S. soybeans.
