Representatives from Turkey’s largest dairy farm, Ata Sancak Dairy Farm, and largest feed producer, MATLI Feed Company, attended USSEC’s 4th Regional Dairy Nutrition and Soybean Meal Transportation & Shipping Conference in Dead Sea, Jordan on September 26 and 27. USSEC Country Manager – Turkey guided the delegation.
Around 100 participations from the region attended the conference and the largest dairy industry representatives were present during the event. The participants felt that the conference was very well organized and speakers were selected with the best combination of important topics interesting for the dairy farmers.
There is a great potential for U.S. soybeans and soybean products in the dairy industry, especially in Turkey. The dairy market is big and continues to grow, but there are still no bypass soy products from the U.S. Currently, there is only soypass, which is produced locally in Turkey with the know-how of the Borregard Company from Europe, providing an excellent opportunity for U.S. bypass soy products. There was also a Total Mix Ration formulation presentation during the event, which allowed the audiences to hear about the price advantages of using soybest and/or soy products in high producing cows. This was eye opening, due to savings eanred by using soybest and soy products. USSEC believes that attendees will be using more bypass soy products in the near future for their dairy feed production.
