USSEC Provides Nutritional Fact Sheets for Soy-Based Feed Ingredients

By USSEC Staff

Soy contains an optimal nutritional bundle that can help improve animal performance. To help animal nutritionists and producers better understand the options for including soy in feed rations, USSEC developed a series of fact sheets describing the processing and average nutritional content of ingredient options derived from U.S. Soy.

“These data help our customers optimize the value soy can provide in any type of aquaculture, livestock or poultry feed,” says Tom D’Alfonso, USSEC director of animal and aquaculture. “They will see how processing soy results in nutritional profiles suited to specific animals and life stages.”

As an animal feed ingredient, soybeans deliver essential amino acids, energy and more. The fact sheets cover both common and specialty soy ingredients for feed. The products detailed include the following options.

The fact sheets include practical and technical information, including detailed average amino acid profiles, metabolizable energy, species-specific inclusion rates and more. D’Alfonso believes this information demonstrates the value of U.S. Soy as a feedstock.

This story was partially funded by U.S. Soy farmers, their checkoff and the soy value chain.
