USSEC Promotes U.S. Soy to Korean Poultry and Swine Industries

USSEC recently attended the Non-Ruminant Nutrition Forum in Korea where participants discussed the economics of swine production, specifically nutrition and waste management. Hyung Suk Lee, USSEC animal utilization director, met with swine and poultry nutritionists and integrators to promote advantages of soy meal in swine and poultry diets. Lee highlighted the higher digestible amino acid and energy contents found in U.S. soy meal compared with meal from other counties such as South America. He also discussed how U.S. hipro soy meal can help reduce costs in swine and broiler production. USSEC staff suggested Korean feed industry importers measure the amino acid content to determine the best economic value of imported soy for animal feed.
