Tunisian - Algerian Team Attends USSEC Buyers & Sellers Conference in Jordan

A Tunisian-Algerian team attended the USSEC Middle East – North Africa (MENA) Buyers & Sellers Conference in Dead Sea, Jordan on March 8 and 9. The team was comprised of two participants representing major companies in Tunisia’s feed and poultry industry, Maher Affes of Carthage Grain crushing plant and Anouar Douma of MEDIGRAIN’s third integrated poultry group, along with one participant representing COFEED/Boudiab, Algeria’s largest ingredient importer and also a future crusher, Hachemi Boudiab.

Despite the COVID-19 threat, the event drew around 65 participants, risk- qualified soybean buyers from 13 countries in MENA, the Asia Subcontinent, and Russia.

Participants heard high level presentations on updated global market overview; risk management technical and fundamental analysis; weather outlook; and new developments in commodity derivatives. The speakers highlighted improving the skills and knowledge of the key decision makers who attended the event.

Participants were very satisfied with the level of the presentations and found the presented Risk Management tools and the practical examples extremely useful for their future Soybean products purchases. They also expressed their appreciation for the event organization and pleasant accommodation in Dead Sea.
