Russian Agro Industries Come Together at Industrial Exhibition

On the last day of January, USSEC consultants attended one of the largest industrial exhibitions organized in Russia – the XXIIIrd International Industrial Trade Fair, "MVC: Cereals - Mixed Feeds - Veterinary - 2018" in the All-Russia Exhibition Center of Peoples’ Achievements in Moscow. The exhibition brought together the best specialists of Russia’s agro-industrial complex and many other countries. Within a few days of the event, 438 companies from 25 countries demonstrated the latest achievements in the field of grains and oilseeds growing and processing, producing mixed fodders and veterinary preparations for agricultural and domestic animals, poultry, and fish on innovative equipment.

The exhibition was well attended by many customers from Russia and neighboring countries.

USSEC consultants’ key focus during the trade fair visit was to meet and consult with local customers at the Sodrugestvo Group’s booth. These interactions offered the opportunity to further explain the advantages of U.S. Soy and to discuss the feeding benefits of value-added soy products such as soy protein concentrate (SPC) and fermented soybean meal.
Sodrugestvo is the largest soybean crushing company in Russia and FSU and the single industrial producer of SPC in this region. The temporary suspension of the importation of U.S. soybeans is very unproductive for the company’s business. In FY16, Sodrugestvo imported about half a million metric tons (MT) of U.S. soybeans and looks forward to the renewal of soybean trade operations with U.S. soybean suppliers.

USSEC consultants Drs. Jan van Eys and Maria Domoroshchenkova had a special discussion on the quality assessment of soy protein products for feeding applications with Mr. Sergey Sokolovsky, Director of Trade House of Sodrugestvo (right) and Ms. Yulia Gunali, Sales Manager (left).
Discussions of feeding benefits and perspectives of industrial production of value-added soy products was one of the main topics of discussion of Dr. van Eys (on the left) with Sodrugestvo management.
