USSEC recently conducted meetings with three feed mill members of the Korea Feed Association (KFA) to discuss the current soy meal supply and demand situation and to promote the value of U.S. hipro soy meal. Hyung Suk Lee, animal utilization contractor, met with purchasing staff of Woosung Feed Co., Ltd., Doosan Feed and Livestock Co., Ltd., and Heungsung Feed Co., Ltd. Woosung and Doosan currently serve as the secretary of two separate purchasing groups within KFA. Lee emphasized the economic value of U.S. soy meal based on its digestible amino acids and energy content. They also discussed the impact of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s September crop report and the World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates on the KFA’s purchasing plan for importing U.S. soy meal.
