USSEC Invites You to Sit Down with Cargill’s Joe Stone

USSEC will open its doors to the Soy-Suite where Jim Sutter and Joe Stone will discuss industry developments that will impact the future of global food.

What one thing do leaders have in common? They keep a watchful eye on happenings around the world, from macro-economics to peripheral businesses and supply chains, and they listen to other leaders. In a nutshell, they are students of the interconnectedness of the world and on the lookout for how to steer their business or company either around or through the construction, traffic jams and accidents.

Through its Soy-Suite, USSEC is creating a place where you can come to hear from other leaders, to gain insight and perspective. It’s a place where we’ll look to identify and discuss significant trends and uncover industry developments that will impact the future of global food and agriculture industries and supply chains.

“I’m excited to launch the Soy-Suite, and I hope you’ll join us on our journey as we seek out and meet with leaders from around the world,” says USSEC’s Jim Sutter, CEO.

The first U.S. Soy-Suite guest will be Cargill’s Joe Stone. Since joining Cargill 35 years ago, Stone has led two of the company’s most significant acquisitions: the $2 billion purchase in 2011 of Provimi, a global animal nutrition company, followed in 2015 by the $1.6 billion acquisition of EWOS, a global provider of salmon nutrition. He has held a number of leadership roles including chief risk officer and heading up the animal nutrition division, which produces 16 million tons of animal feed annually.

Today, the Nebraska native leads Cargill’s agricultural supply chain division and the company’s corporate trading strategy. Passionate about food security and advancing trade and economic development, Stone serves on the board of the World Food Program USA, which supports the work of the United Nation’s World Food Programme. It’s this very passion that drives Stone’s leadership, one that’s distinguished by a strong focus on customers, innovation and delivering results.

Join us Jan. 6 from 7-8 a.m. (CDT) as Sutter and Stone spotlight a number of issues and discuss their impact on business. When you reserve your spot, you’ll also have the chance to submit questions to be asked of Stone. We are excited for you to join us in the Soy-Suite Wednesday morning with a hot cup of coffee and an open mind.
