USSEC recently provided technical assistance on feed formulations, development of feeding programs and nutritional recommendations to livestock and poultry producers in the Dominican Republic. Carlos Campabadal, USSEC contractor, visited four feed mills, Consejo, Aproamoli, Agrifeed and Pollos Cibao, to discuss the advantages of soy meal-based diets and the digestibility of amino acids in feeds. The purchase group El Consejo invited Campabadal to talk about creating feed programs during an economic crisis. He also spoke one-on-one with workshop attendees about nutrition and management.
