USSEC China Conducts Second Session of Joint Trade and Technical Seminar

USSEC China’s marketing and animal utilization (AU) staff conducted the second session of a joint trade and technical seminar in Hangzhou on May 21. The conference was open to preferred crushers, feed millers, animal producers, and key opinion leaders from soy-related industries, industry associations, and research institutes from eastern China.
A total of 68 individuals participated in the roundtable, representing major feed mills and integrators, crushing plants from Shanghai and nearby locations, and soybean importers and exporters.
Post-event evaluation showed that 100 percent of the participants highly valued the USSEC seminar as a very helpful and meaningful interaction and exchange among the upper and lower stream of soy industry. More than 97 percent of the participants said this event helped them become more aware of the sustainability and value of U.S. Soy and indicated that this event reinforced their confidence in increasingly using/purchasing U.S. soybeans.
USSEC received feedback from a soybean meal trader who said he benefitted from the seminar by adopting some of the purchasing strategies and risk management tools that he learned at the seminar, making his company more profitable.
