The biennial Taiwan agricultural trade goodwill mission will visit the U.S. in September. A Letter of Intent between the Taiwan Vegetable Oil Manufactures Association (TVOA) and USSEC will be signed at that time. TVOA intends to purchase between 2.6 million and 2.9 million metric tons (MMT) of soybeans between 2018 and 2019 with the value of the purchases estimated to be between $1.1 - $1.2 billion USD.
The biennial Goodwill Mission has been organized by Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) since 1998.
