Meet the Advisors for the Global Aquaculture Challenge

USSEC is a sponsor for the Global Aquaculture Challenge, created by The Yield Lab Institute and The Yield Lab Asia Pacific, to encourage innovation in the aquaculture field. This is part two of a three part series encouraging people to apply to the contest.

The U.S. Soybean Export Council, The Yield Lab Institute and The Yield Lab Asia Pacific are offering 8 innovators the chance to participate in a global, non-dilutive accelerator program. The contest, Global Aquaculture Challenge, is an unique opportunity for innovators from across the globe and all aspects of the supply chain to share their ideas, whether it be lab, technology or policy-based, to ultimately improve the circular aquaculture approach. Successful applicants will receive relevant subject-matter expert mentoring over the course of 4 months, leading up to a final pitch competition to present their innovations to potential investors. Winners, selected by a blue-ribbon panel of judges, will receive cash prizes, with one  earning a grand prize of $100,000

Advisors are integral to this program and guide the process and selection.  Advisors help pair up mentors, who are global aquaculture experts, to be matched with start-ups and innovators on an expedited path to value creation and commercialization. Experienced industry insights helps participants achieve their maximum technical, environmental and global impact through technical and market development. Mentors will be selected after the eight successful innovators are chosen, to ensure the right partnership.

8 applicants will be selected for the 2021 cohort.  In the countdown to the final pitch, aside from the ongoing mentorship, there will be opportunities where the cohort will present to potential investors and industry stakeholders.  A panel of Judges will select the final winners in several categories.

The Yield Lab, a global network of Venture Capital funds and accelerator programs, thanks the Senior Advisors from industry, academia, policymakers and NGO executives who continue to provide guidance and insights to maximize the impact of this initiative.
