USSEC participated in the Exphotel Trade Show 2014 on June 10-12 in Cancun, Mexico.  Consultants Jorge Martinez and Pedro Gonzalez organized the USSEC booth to promote and increase the sales of the soybean products of the participant companies and the consumption of U.S. soybeans and soy products.  Exphotel is the major trade show for the hotel, restaurants and institutions (HRI) segment in Mexico and Latin America.  This year, 290 exhibitor companies from Mexico, France, Asia and the United States participated in the event.
More than 20 U.S. soybean products were exhibited and promoted including soybean oils, soy milks and soybean texturized protein foods manufactured by six companies that consume U.S. soybeans in the Americas Region.   A soyfoods manufacturer exhibited and promoted a new line of soyfoods for the food service segment.  Mr. Martinez and Mr. Gonzalez helped managers and representatives of these companies exhibit and promote their products, making over 30 new commercial contacts over the course of the event.  During the trade show, the sales manager of a soybean oil refinery began negotiations with a distributor of edible oils to sell 240 metric tons per month of bulk soybean oil.
