USSEC Participates in Great Lakes Crop Summit

USSEC participated in the 2015 Great Lakes Crop Summit, held on January 28-29 in Mount Pleasant, Michigan.  The summit, sponsored by Michigan’s soybean, corn and wheat checkoffs, provides the state’s farmers with an opportunity to come together for two days of education with agronomic tracks for which they can receive Restricted Use Pesticide (RUP), Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) and Michigan Environmental Assurance Program (MAEAP) credits.

The Great Lakes Crop Summit, now in its second year, is growing with leaps and bounds.  Last year, 400 participated and this year, organizers estimated about 250-300 attendees.
Event organizer Kathy Maurer, financial and international marketing director of the Michigan Soybean Promotion Committee, is pleased with the summit’s growth.  She says, “We’re definitely filling a need for our farmers regarding education.”
