USSEC to Participate in 2015 Japan Sustainability Seminar Week

USSEC will participate in Japan’s Sustainability Seminar Week from January 28-30.
A delegation including United Soybean Board (USB) directors Steve Moore and Josiah McClellan; American Soybean Association (ASA) director Bill Gordon; and USSEC Project Manager – Market Access/FTO (Dana Colquitt)
will travel to Tokyo, where they will join USSEC Regional Director – North Asia Paul Burke, USSEC Japan Country Director Mitsuyuki Nishimura and Masako (Masi) Tateishi, USSEC Japan Human Utilization Director.
On the 28th, the team will first hear a briefing of Japan’s soy market before receiving an update from the U.S. embassy team in Japan. They will then attend a luncheon and media seminar, where Mr. Gordon and Mr. Moore will give growers’ perspectives and Mr. McClellan will discuss the U.S. Soybean Sustainability Assurance Protocol in a presentation, “Verifying Sustainable Soy for Customers and Consumers.” The delegation will then move on to a tofu industry seminar and a tofu industry reception.
The team will visit a soy food company the following day, followed by a soy food industry seminar and soy food industry reception.
On the last day of the visit, U.S. soy representatives will attend a luncheon and a traders/importers seminar.
