USSEC will sponsor and organize the 8th Asia Grain Transportation Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from March 31-April 2. This theme of this year’s conference is “Global Food and Agriculture – Vision 2021” and promises to bring together an expert team to share perspectives on the most recent developments in food and agriculture worldwide, give updates on bulk and container ocean transportation, and provide a general outlook on international trade. The FAO forecasts that by 2021, the consumption of meat in developed countries will have continued an unprecedented rise, so conference organizers have focused efforts to provide cooperators and customers with valuable insights and actionable market intelligence to position themselves for the next growth cycle. The conference is aimed at importers and exporters of agricultural products, food and agriculture related agribusinesses, government and private procurement and quality control personnel, shipping and grain analysts, and consultants, and transport and logistics providers for the grain trade, among others.
USSEC Regional Director – Southeast Asia John Lindblom will chair the opening day of the conference and USSEC CEO Jim Sutter will give the welcoming address. USSEC Chairman Randy Mann will speak about “Producer Perspectives – U.S. Soybean Crop Prospects 2014-2015.”
