USSEC Holds Wrap-Up Meeting with Korean Meal Buyers’ Team

USSEC held a wrap-up meeting with the participants of the Korean meal buyers’ team that traveled to the U.S. for the U.S. Soy Global Trade Exchange this past September.  The team, consisting of ten staff from broiler integrators and the Korea Feed Association (KFA), set goals of improving their knowledge on evaluating soybean meal on amino acids and energy; learning more about the U.S. soybean meal export system; and establishing business relationships with U.S. suppliers at the 2013 U.S. Soy Global Trade Exchange.  After returning from the trip, one of the team members from Harim, the largest broiler integrator in Korea, wrote an article about what the team observed in the U.S.  The article was published in the November-December issue of Saryo, a feed-specific magazine published by KFA.  The story discussed the superior value of U.S. soybean meal versus soybean meals from other origins because of its digestible amino acids and metabolizable energy.
