U.S. Soy Industry’s Sustainability Message Takes Root in Czech Animal Feed Industry

USSEC continues to work with the Czech Grain & Feed Association (CMSOZZN), a member of the key EU feed industry lobby group, European Feed Manufacturers’ Federation (FEFAC), providing its know-how and sponsorship to the Czech Annual Feed Industry Conference held in Brno, Czech Republic.

The event was attended by over 130 professionals representing a wide scope of the Czech feed industry and related areas, including policy makers, control authorities, feed compounders, commodity traders, manufacturers of feed additives and premixes as well as some individuals from the livestock and compound feed sectors in Slovakia.  Participation was massive for a relatively small country that produces some 2.5 million metric tons (MMT) of compound feeds a year.
This large professional gathering was an ideal place for the U.S. soybean industry to explain its contribution to the safety of European feed/food chain, including that of the Czech Republic.  The sustainability message of U.S. soy was presented by Dr. Jan van Eys, USSEC EU regional contractor, and the local audience was attentive and engaged, asking many questions.  USSEC Technical Director - Northeast Europe Jerzy Kosieradzki networked among the Czech customers, helping the U.S. soy industry to better target the Czech livestock and feed sectors with its future marketing activities.
