USSEC Promotes U.S. Soybean Products at Expo ANTAD in Mexico

USSEC promoted U.S. soybean products at Expo ANTAD 2014 in Guadalajara, Mexico from March 12-14.  Consultants Jorge Martinez, Pedro Gonzalez and Adela Perez coordinated USSEC’s booth.  Expo ANTAD is the major trade show for the retail segment in Mexico and Latin America.  Approximately 2200 exhibitor companies from Mexico, Argentina, Canada, Chile, Spain, Turkey and the United States participated in this year’s show.  More than 30 soybean products were exhibited and promoted including soybean oils, soy milks, soybean texturized protein foods, snacks and tofu manufactured by eleven companies that consume U.S. soybeans in the Americas region.  A USSEC member who manufactures natural soybean and organic healthy food products for the retail private label and food service sector participated at the USSEC booth.  The USSEC consultants assisted managers and representatives of many companies in the exhibition and promotion of their products, making more than 50 new commercial contacts in the process.
As a result of their participation in this trade show, one soybean oil refinery initiated negotiations to sell two soybean oil brands in two retail chains in the northern and western regions of Mexico; these chains each have more than 60 stores.  A participating soybean oil refinery initiated negotiations to sell two soybean oils brands to a distributor in Guatemala and five soy foods producers reinforced their trade relationships with Mexico’s leading supermarket chains.  The Expo ANTAD 2014 trade show produced very positive results that increased the sales of the soybean products of participating companies and the consumption of U.S. soybeans.
