Technical servicing to the marine fish industry

In-person

Vietnam, Vietnam

This travel will be to provide technical servicing to the Vietnam marine fish cage culture industry to discuss with them the value of moving from traditional production to better production approaches.  Specifically methods to improve survival of the marine fish and to encourage a move from "trash fish" (or incorrect quality feed-based systems) to high-quality feed-based systems.  A move to high quality feeds will both improve survival by removing a potential disease vector, but will also make  marine fish production more efficient by increasing survival, reducing disease outbreaks, speeding up growth and potentially opening new markets with increasing volumes.  The marine fish sector in Vietnam is of particular interest to US Soy as any move to export of these products will need feeds using sustainable ingredients to meet aquaculture certification standards.
