USSEC’s milkfish demonstration project in the southern Philippines was the topic of a feature article in the May/June 2014 issue of the Global Aquaculture Advocate. USSEC’s project was the first to be featured in the magazine’s new column, “Soy-Fed Fish News.” This aquaculture program highlights the use of extruded floating feeds with satiation feeding management and principles of low-volume, high-density (LVHD) cage production. This technology, which was first developed by USSEC for use in China, aims to maximize farmer profits, improve productivity, reduce feed conversion ratios and limit environmental impact through the use of high quality extruded floating feeds and optimized site selection, cage volume and positioning.
