USSEC Welcomes Deering to Communications Team

Last week, USSEC welcomed Julie Deering to its team as Senior Manager, Communications. Effective immediately, Deering is responsible for supporting the USSEC staff in meeting their communications needs, as well as collaborating with the United Soybean Board’s (USB) communications team to help develop and deliver communications strategies across the soy value chain.
Throughout Deering’s career, she’s held communications and editorial positions with Purdue and The Ohio State Universities colleges of agriculture, the American Seed Trade Association, Farm Journal’s Top Producer magazine, Seed World Media, and most recently HighQuest Partners.
Based out of her home in central Missouri, Deering is no stranger to agriculture; some might say it’s part of her DNA. She and her husband own and operate a cow-calf operation and enjoy the free spirit of two young boys, ages 4 and 2. She grew up on a progressive Indiana farm that today produces corn, soybeans and pork, and her father, Jim Douglas, serves on the board of directors for the Indiana Soybean Alliance.
“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work on behalf of U.S. soybean growers and to help tell the story and showcase the value of U.S. Soy in international markets,” Deering says.
Deering reports to Paul Burke, USSEC Senior Director, U.S. Soy Marketing, and Lisa Humphreys, USB Senior Director of Content Development and Brand Stewardship.
Please help us welcome Deering to the team. She can be reached at jdeering@ussec.org and (+1) 765-430-0222.
