USSEC Participates in USAEDC Fall Conference

USSEC and the American Soybean Association (ASA) / World Initiative for Soy in Human Health (WISHH) participated in cooperator and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) meetings in Baltimore, Maryland.
USSEC CEO Jim Sutter and Jim Hershey, Executive Director of ASA’s WISHH program, along with staff from their respective organizations attended the U.S. Agricultural Export Development Council’s (USAEDC) fall conference in November. This meeting convenes commodity groups (known as “cooperators”) and USDA Foreign Agricultural Services (FAS) personnel to discuss exports and trade.
Speakers included Ted McKinney, Under Secretary of Agriculture for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs, who previously served as Director of the Indiana State Department of Agriculture. Under Secretary McKinney emphasized market access, exploring new markets, and seeking input from cooperators during his speech.
Mr. Sutter was elected to the USAEDC Board’s Executive Committee as Secretary/Treasurer.
