USSEC Organizes Risk Management Training Program, Global Grain 2014 for MENA Team

USSEC organized a risk management training program for 13 key traders and end users from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region from November 9-13 in Geneva, Switzerland.  The training included a day of training at Bunge, a one-day CME risk management workshop and attending the Global Grain 2014 conference.
The team’s training at the Bunge office on November 10 consisted of technical analysis, financial risk management, and cash commodity management, which was followed the next day by a risk management workshop hosted by the CME Group and Advance Trading, Inc.
The team attended the Global Grain 2014 conference on November 12 and 13, learning about such topics as analysis of key market trends driving grain and oilseed prices, and trends in yield and demand.  Participants also learned about Black Sea production; trends in international trade finance; vessel demand and availability for freight; China’s strategy in grains; how South America will compete; strategies and opportunities in the evolution of grain markets; global weather and the future of the agricultural markets, with a focus on production and pricing impacts; Canada’s grain trade strategy; crop quality information from Europe and Russia; and energy patterns and the interplay with the grains sector, including biofuels.
