USSEC Holds Reception for Indiana Agriculture Delegation in Korea

USSEC recently hosted a team of Indiana soybean and corn representatives led by Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann.  Indiana’s agriculture delegation visited Korea, Japan and Taiwan during a 12 day trade mission to Asia.  During their time in Korea, USSEC and the U.S. Grains Council (USGC) hosted a reception for Indiana and South Korean agriculture leaders.
"The Indiana soybean and corn representatives enjoyed the opportunity to visit with USSEC and USGC staff while in South Korea and learn about their efforts to build new corn and soybean markets," said Shelley McDaniel, treasurer of Indiana Soybean Alliance (ISA).  Representatives from Indiana learned that the U.S. exported 20 million bushels of soybeans to South Korea in 2013 representing 54 percent of the country's whole soybean imports.
In May, USSEC and ISA hosted a program for Korean feed manufacturers and nutritionists to learn more about U.S. soybean meal.
