U.S. Soy Grower Leaders Participate in Trade Talk

USSEC director and American Soybean Association (ASA) vice president John Heisdorffer and United Soybean Board (USB) director Lewis Bainbridge participated in 2017 Trade Talk, the centerpiece event of the annual National Association of Farm Broadcasting’s (NAFB) National Convention, on November 9 in Kansas City. Mr. Heisdorffer and Mr. Bainbridge represented USSEC in interviews with member broadcasters, discussing issues and topics important to the U.S. Soy industry.
USSEC’s objectives for NAFB Trade Talk were to position USSEC as a thought leader in the international grain trade by providing context to recent export data for soy products and to demonstrate USSEC’s leadership in maximizing the use and value of U.S. Soy in international markets.
USSEC staff also attended presentations given by U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Sonny Perdue; Dr. Kevin Folta, “Communicating Concepts in Biotechnology to a Concerned Public”; and Howard G. Buffet, “A Deep Dive into World Agriculture Issues.”
