U.S. Soy Farmer Lends Crop Update to Chinese Customers

USSEC China recently hosted Bob Metz, soybean farmer from West Brown Valley, S.D., and vice chair of the United Soybean Board’s Global Opportunities program, to meet with U.S. soy buyers. Metz traveled to China to participate in the Livestock and Feed Market Outlook Forum and the 8th JCI Autumn Conference on China Feed Ingredient Market. He provided his perspective on the current U.S. soy crop situation and outlook. Dave Hightower, USSEC consultant, also provided U.S. soy price projections for the next six months and shared price risk management strategies with key customers in Shanghai and Guangzhou during one-on-one meetings. Paul Burke, USSEC North Asia regional director; Zhang Xiaoping, China country director; Claudia Chong, marketing manager; and Zeng Yantian, marketing program assistant, attended the events.
