Tunisian Team attends USSEC 4th Regional Soybean Processing and Refining Conference in Jordan

A team of five participants from the Tunisian vegetable oil processing industry attended USSEC’s 4th Soybean Processing Conference in Amman, Jordan from September 14 to 17.
The Tunisian team was comprised of five key technicians and was escorted by Dr. Riadh Karma, USSEC representative in Tunisia. The Tunisian delegates reported that the conference topics were diversified and very interesting and the level of the speakers was particularly high. In addition to USSEC staff, two grower leaders also attended this conference: Lewis Bainbrige, United Soybean Board (USB) Chairman and Matt Stutzman, American Soybean Association (ASA) director.
According to the Tunisian participants, the event was a good opportunity for them to acquire more knowledge in advanced soy processing and refining as well as in new technologies.
The Tunisian participants included: Samir Frigui, Technical Manager at Ets Slama; Mohamed Salah Chellouf, Refining Plant manager at Ets Slama; Meriem Ben Dlala, R & D Manager at MEDOIL; Mohamed Achraf Fathallah, in charge of Production Planner and Process at EA; and Sihem Abidi, in charge of Quality Control Laboratory at E.A.

The Tunisian team appreciated being present among a large audience of suppliers and participants from other countries to exchange technical experiences and do business. After the conference, all of them had also received valuable information on high quality U.S. soybean use for processing and had a better understanding on sustainability U.S. Soy production.
