Fish Farmers Continue Aquaculture Learning at USSEC Fish Processing, Post-Harvest Treatment of Fish & Value Added Solutions Training

USSEC / Soy Excellence Center and WorldFish are hosting the Third Training Program on USSEC Fish Processing, Post-Harvest Treatment of Fish & Value Added Solutions Training, which took place at Fish for Africa innovation hub, WorldFish Center in Abbassa, Abou-Hammad, Sharkia, Egypt from Saturday, December 14 through Thursday, December 19.  40 fish farmers from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Morocco listened to presentations from distinguished speakers on aquaculture. Topics discussed included Feed to Food Safety; Best Management Practice in Fish Farming; Monitoring Fish Safety; Fish Processing and Human Health; Fish Handling; and Maintaining Quality, Fish Canning, and Fish Cooling & Freezing.  A field trip to one of the largest processing plants in Egypt was an additional opportunity for training the participants in best management practices.
