USSEC provided technical support to feed mill customers in the Dominican Republic last May.
USSEC consultant Alejandro Gonzalez visited seven feed mills including PETS, CAC, APORCI, AGROPTEL, IPD, NUPRESA, and OJIVA, and one swine farm. These visits help to ensure an efficient and continuous use of U.S. soybean meal in animal diets, which will increase the Dominican demand of U.S. soybean meal.
Mr. Gonzalez informed the feed millers and animal producers of the importance of producing good quality feed with U.S. soybean meal for optimum animal performance and economics; explained to the technicians and owners how to produce good quality full fat soybeans and how to use it in animal feeds; described the advantages of using U.S. soybean meal instead of fishmeal in aquaculture rations; and talked to animal nutritionists and premix manufacturers of the advantage of using high quality U.S. soybean meal as they influence producers directly through feed formulation.
