U.S. Soy ensures the reliable supply of raw materials and dependable product quality.
On October 28, USSEC hosted the U.S. Full-fat Soybean Extrusion Technology and Market Seminar, co-organized with Henan Shennong Full-fat Soybean Technology Co., Ltd. (Henan Shennong), in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, China. Decision makers from 66 feed mills and animal husbandry enterprises, including Hefeng, New Hope Liuhe, and other influential enterprises, attended this event.
The seminar also celebrated the first direct arrival of Chicago soybean containers by sea rail intermodal transportation to Zhengzhou’s inland port. Henan Shennong has actively utilized soybeans certified by the U.S. Soy Sustainability Assurance Protocol (SSAP) to produce its full-fat soybean products since 2018, when it became the first Chinese company authorized to apply the SSAP logo to its feed packaging bags. The logo helped the company’s products to earn a good reputation in the marketplace, obtaining influence and market position. The organization was previously unable to choose the origin of its soybeans when bulk importing with other purchasers, and this was the first direct shipping trial for Shennong as it imported the beans independently through sea rail intermodal container, making it more convenient for the company to purchase its preferred U.S. soybeans.
USSEC Regional Director – Greater China Zhang Xiaoping oversaw the seminar, which was attended by a number of high profile guests including Cai Wenjun, Director of Feed and Veterinary Drug Department of Henan Agricultural and Rural Affairs; Gao Tianzeng, President of Henan Feed Industry Association; Guo Hongtao, Deputy General Manager of Henan COSCO Shipping Container Transportation Co., Ltd., and Chen Jiaqiang, General Manager of Henan Testing and Certification Group Co., Ltd., who were invited as speakers. Gao said he would continue to strengthen cooperation with USSEC to form a stable and long-term cooperative relationship to jointly promote the development of Henan Province’s feed industry.
The seminar included a video conference with Northwest Grains International, LLC, USA, the exporter of this container shipment. Mao Guohe, general manager, and Robb Conroy, soybean sales director, provided information about U.S. soybean production and this season’s sales.
USSEC consultants Dr. Shi Xueshi, animal utilization (AU) technical consultant; Dr. Han Yanming, AU technical consultant and feed director; and Zou Dan, sustainability program manager, gave presentations on the advantages of U.S. soybeans in animal feed, the processing of full fat soybeans, and the SSAP, respectively, to industry policy influencers and enterprise purchasers. Relevant questions were raised and answered.
